The library has access to over 180,000 e-books through various subscription databases. Our two main collections are through ebrary and EBSCOhost eBooks. We also have access to various reference texts, sheet music, newspapers, and other e-books through Credo Reference, Gale Virtual Reference, Music Online Reference, and Shaw-Shoemaker (early American imprints).
Many of our e-books are listed in the library catalog, so you can search our e-books through the custom E-Books search. You can view the e-books from any internet accessible computer, either on-campus or off-campus with your LVC username/password.
Ebrary offers an additional option to download many of the e-books for a 2 week loan. The downloaded e-book can be viewed offline through a mobile device, such as a tablet.
With the exception of EBSCOhost eBooks, most of the e-books will allow viewing by unlimited users. EBSCOhost eBooks only allow one user at a time to access the e-book. You may also be able to print a limited number of pages from e-books, depending upon the collection. If printing is allowed, it is usually limited to a chapter and/or certain number of pages.
